This coffee is from the farms of Jose Rossetto and sons, families from the region known as Mogiana de Montanha (Mountain Mogiana). As part of a new family of FAF partners, the Rossetto family has begun the process of converting to sustainable agriculture. They are protecting the natural ground water springs that supply clean water, add no chemicals to their land, and they are planting additional trees to create a green corridor for wildlife in the area.

Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (FAF)
Local farmers like Jose and Sons use Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza’s (FAF) mill and drying patios, and their coffees are marketed through FAF acting as export agent. FAF has been a coffee plantation since 1850 and owned and run by the Barretto family since the early 1900s. Since 2002, Silvia Barretto and her husband, Marcos Croce, have been working on transforming the farm into a model of sustainable organic agriculture, thus demonstrating how agriculture in Brazil can be productive and profitable while producing a natural living environment through the proper use of the land’s natural resources. Marcos and Silvia also work hard in their communities supporting other farmers.
